Margarethe Siems

Margarethe Siems (actually Margarethe Siems Bertha Ida ) ( born December 30, 1879 in Breslau, † April 13, 1952 in Dresden) was a German opera singer and voice teacher.

Life and work

Margarethe Siems received first violins and piano lessons in her native Breslau. In 1899 she began her studies in Dresden with the famous singer and music teacher Aglaya Orgeni. In 1902, she received from theater director Angelo Neumann her first engagement in Prague, where she in " The Huguenots " by Giacomo Meyerbeer made ​​his debut as Queen Margaret.

1908 committed they are to the Dresden Court Opera (now Semperoper ), where she was succeeded by Irene Abendroth.
