Marguerite Bay is a 200 km long indentation of the south-west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. It is bordered on the north by Adelaide Island and south of the Alexander I Island; west lies the Antarctic mainland ( the Fallières coast of Graham Land ). Rothera Station on Adelaide Island is located at the Marguerite Bay.
Marguerite Bay was discovered as part of a French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of Jean -Baptiste Charcot, and named after his second wife Marguerite Clery ( 1874-1960 ).
