Maria Àngels Anglada

Maria Àngels Anglada i d' Abadal ( born March 9, 1930 in Vic, † 23 April 1999 in Figueres) was a Catalan author.

Life

Maria Àngels Anglada was born in Carrer de la Riera, a street in the old town area of ​​Vic, the eldest daughter of writer Joan pair Angela i Vilardebó (1895-1979) and Maria d' Abadal i Pedral ( 1905-2003 ). During the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39, the family spent three years in the Basque city of Donostia Euzkati in the region where Anglada visited a primary school for the first time. After Franco's victory in 1939, the family returned to Vic.

She studied classical philology at the University of Barcelona and worked on the translation of Greek and Latin classics into Catalan.
