Maria Golubnichaya

Marija Wassiljewna Golubnitschaja (Russian Мария Васильевна Голубничая, English transcription Mariya Golubnichaya, . Born February 24, 1924 in Dubowka, Volgograd Oblast ) is a former Russian track and field athlete.

Golubnitschaja won at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, the silver medal in the 80 - meter hurdles behind the Australian Shirley Strickland de la Hunty ( gold ) and before the Germans Maria Sander (bronze). In 1954 she won the gold medal at the European Championships in Bern. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 she was able to achieve a fifth place again.

From 1952 to 1954, she won three Soviet titles. At a height of 1.67 m her competition weight was 60 kg.
