Maria Katinari

Maria Katinari (Greek Μαρία Κατινάρη ) was born in Chania, on Crete as the eldest daughter of Antonis Katinaris and Maria Rippi. She is a Greek actress, singer and songwriter.

Youth

Since her father was a famous and successful composer and bouzouki and her mother, herself a singer, also came from a family of musicians, Maria had early first stage experience.

In a period of youthful rebellion against the rebetiko tradition of the family, she joined, just thirteen years old as a singer in a rock group. At 16, she began to travel, first during the school holidays as a singer through Europe.
