Maria Laskarina

Maria Laskaris of Nicaea (* 1206 in Nicaea, † 1270) was Queen of Hungary.

She was the daughter of the Byzantine Emperor Theodoros I. (* 1173, † 1222 ) and his wife Anna Comnena Angelina (* 1156, † 1212 ), a Byzantine princess, born.

In 1218 she was married at the age of 12 years with the same age Béla, the later Béla IV, King of Hungary, Croatia, Dalmatia, and Rama.

Queen Mary died the same year as her husband, and was buried by his side in the cathedral of Esztergom.
