Maria Nazionale

Maria Nazionale ( born July 31, 1969 in Torre Annunziata) is an Italian singer and actress.

Life

Maria Nazionale was born in the province of Naples, but lived for 15 years in Milan, where she began her musical career at the age of 16 years. In 1986, she appeared with the title Ragazzo solo ' at the Italian song contest Festivalbar on. 1993 her debut album, Maria Nazionale EMI released. As a result, they turned to especially the Neapolitan folk music, which led to much better known in the Campania region than in the rest of Italy. Twice took Maria Nazionale at the Sanremo Festival in part: In 2010, she sang a duet with the Neapolitan singer Nino D' Angelo, in 2013, she performed solo.

In addition to her singing career Maria Nazionale also works as an actress. She has appeared in various contemporary Italian plays, so in Lacreme Napulitane again on the side of Nino D' Angelo. In 2008, she starred, directed by Matteo Garrone, the role of Maria in the film Gomorrah - journey into the realm of the Camorra. The film won the 2008 European Film Awards and the Italian Film Award David di Donatello. Also Nazionale was nominated for best supporting actress for a David di Donatello.
