Maria Teresa de Filippis

Maria Teresa de Filippis ( born November 11, 1926 in Naples) is a former Italian car racer.

She was the first woman who competed in a Formula 1 World Championship race, and that the Grand Prix of Belgium 1958 Maserati. She finished the race in tenth. Previously, she had also denied on Maserati sports car racing and unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for the Grand Prix of Monaco in 1958. In two other Formula 1 race in the same year she left each.

In the 1959 Formula 1 season, she performed at the Porsche Grand Prix of Monaco, for which she, however, did not qualify. On another Formula 1 events they did not participate.
