Mariaan de Swardt

Mariaan de Swardt ( born March 18, 1971 in Johannesburg) is a South African former tennis player.

Career

De Swardt played from 1988 to 2001 on the professional tour. Your preferred playing surface is the lawn and the hard place.

She won a total of two Grand Slam titles in mixed doubles with partner David Adams. In 1999, she won the final of the Australian Open with 6:4, 4:6, 7:65 against the pairing Serena Williams / Max Mirnyi and 2000 French Open against the pairing Rennae Stubbs / Todd Woodbridge 6-3, 3: 6, 6-3.

As a member of the Olympic team of South Africa de Swardt played at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

In 2006 she received the U.S. citizenship.
