Todd Woodbridge

Todd Woodbridge ( born April 2, 1971 in Sydney ) is an Australian former tennis player.

Career

He won 83 doubles title in his career on the ATP World Tour, making it one of the most successful doubles players in tennis history. Of which he won 61 together with his compatriot Mark Woodforde - the duo was called by everyone only The Woodies. After Woodforde had finished his career in 2000, Woodbridge played until the end of 2004 with Jonas Bjorkman together. From 2005 he formed along with Mahesh Bhupathi a double.

After the early exit at Wimbledon with Bhupathi in 2005, the Australian announced his retirement from professional sport. As a reason for the resignation, he stated the rule changes for the ATP Double competitions as of September 2005, which provided for smaller playing fields and a new method of counting.

On March 1, 2010 Woodbridge was officially nominated for induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
