MARIALVA ( Paraná ) on the map of Paraná
MARIALVA, officially Municipio de MARIALVA, is a Brazilian city in the state of Paraná. In 2010, the city had about 32,000 inhabitants in an area of 475 square kilometers. The IBGE estimated on 1 July 2013, the population of 33,794 inhabitants, called Marialvenser. MARIALVA is about 600 meters above sea level.
MARIALVA is part of mesoregion Norte Central Paranaense and the micro-region Maringá, as well as the metropolitan region metropolitana Região de Maringá.
MARIALVA is known for its wine grape production and has the city 's nickname "Capital of the grape " ( Capital since Uva Fina ).
History
Patron is the 4th Marques de MARIALVA, Pedro José de Alcântara de Meneses Noronha Coutinho, 6th Conde Cantanhede ( 1713-1799 ).
By law, Lei n º 790 of Munizip was spun off as an independent municipality from the administrative district Mandaguari on 14 November 1951.

MARIALVA divided into four district ( distritos ) Aquidaban, São Luiz, São Miguel do Cambuí and Santa Fé do Pirapó.
Prefect for the term 2013-2016 is since the local elections in 2012 Edgar Silvestre of the Partido Socialista Brasileiro (PSB ), who holds the post since 2009.
