Marian Gold
Marian Gold ( born May 26, 1954 in Herford Hartwig Schier tree ) is a German musician and co-founder of the band Alphaville.
Biography
Marian Gold moved to Münster in 1980 and launched his first musical experiments in the seven-member collective of artists " Nelson Community " (1981). In 1982 he founded together with Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens the pop trio "Forever Young ", from the 1983, the band Alphaville was born (named after the eponymous film by Jean -Luc Godard ).
The youthful synth pop trio was primarily influenced by the expressive, often touching voice Marian Golds. The breakthrough came in 1984 coinciding with the first single " Big in Japan", which then Europe a top 10 hit was first in Germany. She was in spite of the subsequent hits " Sounds Like a Melody " and "Forever Young" the greatest success of Alphaville. 1985 the band moved to Berlin.
After further albums and multimedia projects, Marian Gold profiled in the 1990s as a solo artist. In 1992 the solo album " So Long, Celeste ." Followed in 1996 with "United", the second, produced by Rupert Hine solo album, which was a moderate commercial success.
Since 1993, Marian Gold appears under the name Alphaville also live on, but this is rejected today by the former band members Bernhard Lloyd, Frank Mertens and Ricky Echolette. The band continued to publish songs, albums and remixes, which are distributed primarily through the Internet. After the departure of Bernard Lloyd in 2002, gold is the last remaining founding member of Alphaville.
Incidentally finds gold is still time for solo projects: He has appeared in 2001 with the band " Sputnik Roadhouse " in the television film "Class Reunion" ( Sat.1 ) and toured in 2002 with the " Nokia Night Of The Proms " by Germany. In 2003 he sang the " Messenger " in the opera " L' invenzione Degli Angeli / The Invention The Angel" by Klaus Schulze and Hermann Schneider.
In 2005 he participated in a duet with the Hanover Hawaii Kai DJ whose song " For You " on, which is included in the online computer game " Dark Age Of Camelot ".
Gold is the father of six children, who come from four different mothers.
