Marienstein

Marie Stone is a village in the municipality Waakirchen in the west of the Upper Bavarian district rotten creek. By Marie stone hard stream runs.

History

1850/51 established the owner of the goods Oberkammerloh, Deuringer, two cement kilns and mill plant. The stones for its cement factory were extracted from the Quarry Wood Wiesenthal, where he later shifted his activities and those by his granddaughter Maria renamed Marie Stone. The degradation of cement marl was in the corridors, which met with a pitch coal layer. 1852 Deuringer received from the Royal Mining Office Munich, the extraction rights for coal. He built from the mine Marie Stone and built a nearby cement plant. The mine existed until 1962, when the last layer was run. After the closure of the cement works in 1998, the church tried to industrial settlements.

The present district was created from company housing and administrative buildings of the mine and the cement plant.
