Marina di Camerota
Marina di Camerota is an Italian coastal town in Cilento with about 3500 inhabitants, and the center of the second largest national park in Italy (UNESCO World Heritage). He is a district of the municipality of Camerota in the province of Salerno (Campania ).

History
Marina di Camerota ( resp. of Camerota Alta, up on the mountain ) was a place of emigration to Venezuela in the 19th century. The connection to the South American country is still strong, is still called the main street Via Bolivar. The larger houses in Marina were built by the returnees from Venezuela, whose descendants still has a large part of the floor. The " Venezuelans " settled mainly in the west of the municipal area, the eastern part (old Castello, and Palazzo dei Marchesi ) was more of the ( lower ) nobility reserved. Despite the tourist boom since the 1960s, which is actually only affects the many campsites between Marina and Palinuro, the place outside of the summer months has retained the character of a quiet fishing village.
Geography
The village is located about 200 km south of Naples and 90 km from Salerno to the fortieth degree of latitude. The coast is very varied in this area. Marina di Camerota is a popular seaside resort for leisure seekers from all over Italy and tourism center of the Italian province of Campania. Since 1991, the city is part of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano and member of the Costiera Cilentana.
Traffic
The Port of Camerota is started in August of the "Metro del Mare " by various ferry lines that call at Capri and Naples, next to Sapri, Pisciotta, Acciaroli, Salerno and Agropoli. Otherwise hourly bus services to the railway station of Piscotta -Palinuro. The port is used by fishermen and tourists and has one station and limited maintenance and repair facilities. The village has received from 2003 to 2007 every year the Blue Flag for its bathing water quality. The glamorous Camerota as Palinuro have again received the award for best water quality in 2013. Many fishermen to offer in the summer months their services as " charter captain " and bring tourists to the surrounding bays of the National Park. From the town there are numerous ways to explore nature. For hiking is the best season from April to June and in September. The most important festival of the city is the Festa di San Domenico, it takes place every year on the fourth of August. As usual in Italy, the area from 1 to 15 August is visited by many tourists on average. The reason for this is also the traditional Ferragosto. During this time, there are very many cultural events. Infrastructure
