Marinus (crater)

Marinus is an impact crater on the southeastern edge of the lunar front side, just north of the crater Oken and southwest of Harlan. The crater is moderately eroded, the interior precisely. The southern boundary is overlaid by the secondary craters Marinus G, on the western and northwestern edge close immediately the almost equally large secondary craters B or R to.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Phoenician geographer, Marinos of Tyre.
