Mario Bellini

Mario Bellini ( born 1 February 1935 in Milan ) is an Italian designer and architect.

He completed his studies in architecture in 1959 from the Polytechnic of Milan. Bellini is known worldwide through the planning and execution of construction and renovation projects.

As designers, Bellini worked inter alia for the German pen manufacturer Lamy, the Italian electrical appliance manufacturer Brionvea and for some hi-fi equipment of the Japanese Yamaha Group.

  • Fair Food: expansion of exhibit space, and re-planning of the Gruga Park (1997-2001)
  • National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, extensions and conversions (1999-2003)
  • German Bank, Frankfurt am Main: rehabilitation and modernization of central administration (2008-2011)
  • Louvre, Paris: Rudy Ricciotti together with extension to the department Islamic Art (2011/ 2012).
