Mario Pani

Mario Pani Darqui ( born March 29, 1911 in Mexico City; † February 23, 1993 ) was a Mexican architect, urban planner and founder in 1978 of the Academia Nacional de Arquitectura in Mexico.

Biography

Pani studied architecture at the Ecole des Beaux -Arts in Paris until 1937 and then returned to Mexico, where he completed the final examination for architects. In 1938 he began in Mexico with the publication of the Review of Architecture ( to 1980). Some of his numerous buildings he designed in collaboration with the architect Enrique del Moral. His works include numerous Mexican educational institutions, for example, the Escuela Normal de Maestros and the Conservatorio Nacional de Música, which were built between the mid- 40s, in 1949 his first residential building and Enrique del Moral and Salvador Ortega Flores between 1950 and 1952 realized central administration building and the Rector of the UNAM storm. Partial together with Enrique del Moral, he designed numerous national and international buildings.

Pani had since 1985 " numbered Member" ( Miembro de Número ) Academia de Artes.

His son Knut Pani is a well known artist today.
