Mario van Peebles
Mario Van Peebles ( born January 15, 1957 in Mexico City) is an actor and director.
Mario Van Peebles is the son of film director Melvin Van Peebles and actress Maria Marx. In 1978 he completed a course of study Economics at Columbia University. Under the New York City Mayor Edward I. Koch Van Peebles was responsible for the redevelopment of the city finances.
Mario Van Peebles made his debut in the film Sweet Sweetback 's Baad Asssss song from 1971, in which his father directed. In the film Heartbreak Ridge in 1986 he starred alongside Clint Eastwood, the film Highlander III - The Legend of 1994 alongside Christopher Lambert and in the film Ali from 2001 with Will Smith and Jon Voight as Malcolm X. He was one of the directors of the television series 21 Jump Street. In 2012 he played with in The Asylum 's American Warships, which is a Mockbuster on Peter Berg's Battleship.
In 1991, Van Peebles was on the list of the 50 most beautiful people in the world of magazine " People". As a director, he is next to Spike Lee assigned to the New Black Cinema.
