Mário Zagallo

Mário Jorge Lobo Zagallo, as Mário Zagallo known ( born August 9, 1931 in Maceió in Brazil), is a former Brazilian footballer and football coach with Lebanese descent. He is considered one of the most successful coaches in world football.

Zagallo is regarded as one of the legends of Brazilian football. The former coach, who was called by his players, " Professor ", was involved in three of the five World Cup title, the Brazilian as a player and coach. Due to its tactical reasons he was called El Lobo (the wolf ).

Playing career

The attacking midfielder and striker Mário Zagallo played from 1946 to 1950 for América FC, ​​in 1951 six years for Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. There he won from 1953 to 1955 the state championship in Rio de Janeiro. From the year 1958 to 1965 he played for Botafogo, with whom he (1962 1961 ) won twice this province championship. Mário Jorge Lobo Zagallo coached more than a dozen football clubs between 1966 and 2001. His coaching career began in 1966 at Botafago, he has coached four years.
