Marion Mack

Marion Mack, a native Joey Marion McCreery (* April 8, 1902; † 1 May 1989) was an American film actress, screenwriter and producer. As a female lead actress in Buster Keaton's The General, she was known worldwide.

Life

Marion Mack began her career as a Mack Sennett of " Bathing Beauties ". Soon she appeared prominently in short films, both before and behind the camera: For Mary of the Movies (1923 ) in which she played the lead role, she wrote the screenplay. Once in Alice in Movieland she last worked as an actress in 1927, she moved entirely on the work behind the camera.

As a screenwriter and film producer, she was with her husband, Lewis Lewyn, active until his death in 1969. The couple had married in 1924. As The General was celebrated in reruns as a masterpiece in the 1960s, Keaton, Marion Mack the also brought new attention.
