Marius Goring

Life

Goring was born the son of doctor Charles Goring and the concert pianist Kate Macdonald. As Marius was six years old, his father died. His mother supported his artistic talent, so he went to the theater stage. He studied at the University of Cambridge as well as in Germany and in Paris. His theater debut was in London in the play The Voysey Inheritance. In the 1930s he appeared in Shakespeare plays such as Macbeth.

In the cinema worked from 1940 in films such as The Case of the Frightened Lady by George King or The Red Shoes by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. In the 1960s he was rarely in the movies, but more common to see it on British television.

Marius Goring was married to Mary Westwood Steel 1931 to 1941, then with Lucie Mannheim until 1976, then with Prudence Fitzgerald from 1977 until his death.
