Marius Trésor

Marius Trésor ( born January 15, 1950 in Sainte -Anne, Guadeloupe ) is a French former football player. He was selected by Pelé in March 2004 in the FIFA 100.

Trésor, who had only come with 19 years to France, played initially on the defensive left, sometimes the right wing, unfolded its qualities, but increasingly on the Libero position. His professional career began in 1969 at AC Ajaccio; then he played at Olympique Marseille (1972-1980) and Bordeaux (1980-1984) at the highest national level. With Marseille, he won the French Cup in 1976 and 1984 Bordeaux with the French championship. He was awarded the French Footballer of the Year in 1972.

Between December 1971 and November 1983, he played 65 international matches ( eight for Ajaccio, Marseille 37 and 20 for Bordeaux) in the national team, scoring four goals, two of them (1973 and 1982 ) against Germany. He was in 25 games and team captain of the Équipe Tricolore and World Cup qualifiers in 1978 and 1982 ( 10 inserts). From 1983 to 1985 he was also a French national record player before he was overtaken by Maxime Bossis.
