Mark Cameron

Mark Cameron ( born October 10, 1952 in Clinton, Massachusetts ) is a former American professional weightlifter.

Career

Mark Cameron is from Middletown, Rhode Iceland. There he attended high school and developed as a teenager at a good athletes. Ever since then, also worked to strengthen the muscles with weights, he also got to know the weight lifting and soon devoted himself entirely to this sport. Under his coach Joe Mills, he coached while at Dynamo BBC and later in York BBC. In 1973 he started for the first time at USA Championships and finished 4th in the Middle heavyweight (then to 90 kg body weight). Later, he grew up in the first heavyweight (then up to 100 kg body weight) and the second heavyweight (then to 110 kg body weight) into it. He won in the years 1975-1980 six times the U.S. Championship. His best result at the World Championships was 4th place in 1977 in Stuttgart. In this World Cup, he also won a bronze medal in the thrusting. 1976 was a low point in his career, as he had to be disqualified at the Olympic Games in Montreal for doping.

Mark Cameron is now working as a coach in Pittsburgh and trained here also his son Matt.
