Mark Hambourg

Mark Hambourg (Russian Марк Михайлович Хамбург / Mark Mikhailovich Hamburg; * 31 Maijul / June 12 1879greg in Boguchar (Russia ). . † August 26, 1960 in Cambridge (England) ) was a Russian- British pianist.

Life

Mark Hambourg was the son of Professor Michail Hambourg ( 1855-1916 ). In 1888 he began in Moscow with public appearances and had very soon performances in all the major cities of Europe. He received his basic education on the piano in Vienna with Teodor Leszetycki. He lived in London since 1889 and in 1896 he took British citizenship to.

Mark Hambourg was the brother of Boris, Jan and Clement Hambourg and the father of pianist Michal Hambourg, with whom he had joint appearances.
