Mark Shipman

Mark Shipman ( born January 3, 1973 in Leeds ) is a former British diver. He started for the club City of Sheffield Diving Club in the disciplines of 1- m and 3 -m springboard diving and with Tony Ally in 3 -meter synchronized diving. Shipman participated in two Olympic Games. He won one medal at the Commonwealth Games and European swimming championships in synchronized diving.

Shipman's first major international competition was the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria. There he was tenth from the 1- m- board and aft from the 3 -meter board. In the 1998 World Cup in Perth, he reached with Ally fourth in the 3 -meter synchronized diving and therefore his best result at a World Cup. In the same year he was ninth on 1 -meter board and sixth from the 3 -meter board at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. At the European Championships 1999 in Istanbul Shipman won his first international medal he won with Ally bronze in the 3 -meter synchronized diving. He competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, from the 3- m- board, he could not finish the race, in the 3 -meter synchronized diving he was with Ally seventh. The duo was at the World Championships in Fukuoka again fourth and missed a medal again just barely. In his second at the Olympics in Athens in 2004 Shipman reached by the 3 -meter board the semi-finals and finished 18th in the 3 -meter synchronized diving, he was good with Ally fifth.
