Mark Weinberger

Mark Weinberger ( * in Scranton, Pennsylvania) is an American businessman. He is chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young ( EY ).

Career

Mark Weinberger earned a B. A. at Emory University, an MBA and a J. D. at Case Western Reserve University and an LL.M. at Georgetown University Law Center.

Weinberger was first used in 1987 as a newcomer to EY. In 1990, he joined the civil service and took a job as a tax advisor for Senator John C. Danforth. In addition, he served as Chief of Staff Entitlement and Tax Reform Committee of 1994.

He is co-founder of the company, opened in March 1996, Washington Counsel, PC The company merged in May 2000 with Ernst & Young and he was Director of the National Tax Department of the American branch of Ernst & Young. During the year, Weinberger returned to public service when President Clinton appointed him to the Social Security Advisory Board. Following the resignation of Jonathan Talisman Weinberger Assistant Secretary was on the U.S. Treasury Department and was responsible for the tax policy of the Ministry. In April 2002, he resigned and returned as Americas Deputy Vice Chair of the Business Unit Tax Services to EY. He is currently Chairman and CEO of EY and works in Washington. He joined in July 2013 to succeed the retiring Chairman and CEO Jim Turley.

Weinberger sits on the boards of The Tax Council, the American Council for Capital Formation and the Bullis School. In December 2012, the Anti-Defamation League awarded him with the Achievement Award.

Mark Weinberger is married and has four children with his wife.
