Marko Jarić

Marko Jarić, (Cyrillic Марко Јарић; born October 12, 1978 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian professional basketball player.

He currently plays for Montepaschi Siena in the Lega Basket Serie A. He was previously with the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA. He is the son of Srecko Jarić. Jarić also has the Greek nationality. Since 14 February 2009, he is married to Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima. On 15 November 2009 he was the father of a daughter; in September 2012 was the second daughter.

National

His debut in the national team was Marko Jarić at the 1998 World Cup in Athens, when he became world champion with the U -22. At the European Championships 2001 in Turkey they took the European title. At the World Cup 2002 in Indianapolis Jarić won the world title with the national team under Serbian coach Svetislav Pesic. At the 2005 European Championships in their own country, they failed in the quarterfinals to France with 71:74.

Clubs

He began his career at KK Crvena Zvezda. In 2002, he joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent 3 years with the Clippers until he was then released on 12 August 2005 along with Lionel Chalmers to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Sam Cassell and a first-round draft pick. After three seasons with the Timberwolves and one with the Memphis Grizzlies, Jarić moved in December 2009 to return to Europe, the Spanish giants Real Madrid, where he signed a contract until the summer of 2010. In January 2011, he undertook the Italian club Montepaschi Siena.
