The Marpe is a 9.1 km long, orographic right tributary of the North Rhine- Westphalian Salwey in Hochsauerlandkreis, Germany.

Geography

The Marpe springs southwest of Obermarpe at an altitude of 497 m above sea level. NN. From here it flows mainly in north-eastern directions. Here it flows through the villages Obermarpe, Niedermarpe and Kückelheim to at Sieperting to 317 m above sea level. NN on the right side to open into the Salwey. The creek flows entirely within the municipality Eslohe ( Sauerland).

On its 9.1 km long road it overcomes a difference in altitude of 180 m, corresponding to an average bed slope of 19.8 ‰. The Marpe drains a 15.720 km ² Salwey, Wenne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.

Tributaries

The Marpe flow to a few, sometimes very short tributaries from the slopes of the surrounding hills. The 4.2 km long Dormecke is the most important tributary. The following are the tributaries are called in order from source to mouth, which are managed by the district government of Cologne.
