Married People

Pairwise happy ( Original title: Married People) is an American sitcom 18 episodes that ran from 1990 to 1991 on ABC. The German Original Air Date was (in the evening on Saturdays ) on the cable channel, the forerunner of cable one to see from 29 February 1992 to June 1992. This was one of the series to one of the first shipments of the new channel; the first episode was aired on the first day of broadcasting.

Content

The series describes the lives of three couples living in Manhattan in the same house. On the ground floor lives the black couple Nick and Olivia Williams, who have been married a long time and who own the house. Above them live freelance journalist Russell Meyers and his wife, the lawyer Elizabeth. At the top live the newly recovered, newly married Allen and Cindy Campbell; while studying at the university, she worked as a waitress, but has the dream of becoming a dancer.

The humor of the series develops from the conflict between the three pairs belonging to three different generations and have different ideas about life.

Reception

The series was indeed praised by critics, but generated only low ratings. That is why it was discontinued in March 1991 after the 18th episode. 1991 won an Emmy in the category Outstanding Technical Direction / Camera / Video for a Series series.
