Marsha Norman

Marsha Norman ( born September 21, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American novelist and screenwriter.

Their most famous work is the play night, Mother, for which she received the 1983 Pulitzer Prize. In addition to plays and screenplays she also wrote song lyrics for musicals such as The Read Shoes, The Color Purple and The Secret Garden. For the latter, she wrote screenplay and song texts based on the eponymous novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and was honored for her script with a Tony Award.
