Maršovice (Jablonec nad Nisou District)

Maršovic ( German Marschowitz ) is one of the oldest communities in Okres Jablonec nad Nisou.

History

The village was founded in the early 14th century, around the same time as Gablonz. It is an original Bohemian village, which was colonized later by the Cistercian monastery in Mnichovo Hradiště.

The inhabitants lived mainly from agriculture. Were mainly cultivated flax and oats. Beginning of the 19th century, the village was the seat of the carters who transported the glass produced in the environment in the world. 1830 the first glass finishing factories were built from the mid-19th century the village belonged to the judicial district Jablonec nad Nisou. During World War II buttons for the army were prepared.

The municipality has 450 inhabitants (as of 2006).

The municipality consists of the villages Maršovic Čížkovice 1 díl ( Tschischkowitz Part 1 ) and Maršovic ( Marschowitz ).
