Marta Sosińska

Marta Sosińska - Janczewska ( born October 4, 1939 in Warsaw) is a Polish pianist.

Life

Marta Sosińska began at the age of 7 years to play the piano. In Warsaw she received from 1952 to 1957 piano lessons with Wanda Łosakiewicz and then studied (up to 1963) at the Music Academy in Warsaw, Zbigniew Drzewiecki at. She was, inter alia, the winner of the 7th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1965. They then reached the third place ( first place was awarded to Martha Argerich ) and was awarded the Special Prize "Best Polonaise " of Chopin Society.

During her studies she conducted concert tours throughout Europe and overseas. From 1985 she was a professor at the University of Music Würzburg. Marta Sosińska was, inter alia, engaged in a complete recording of the piano works by Chopin.
