Martha Chase

Martha Chase ( born August 8, 1927 in Cleveland Heights, Lorain, Ohio; † 27 August 2003) was one in the 1950s, a leading researcher at the prestigious Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

She worked with Alfred Hershey together at the Hershey - Chase experiment, which shows that the genetic information in DNA and are not coded in the proteins.

In 1952 she published Independent Functions of Viral Protein and Nucleic Acid in Growth of Bacteriophage.
