Martha Wainwright
Martha Wainwright ( born May 8, 1976) is a Canadian folk-pop musician.
Life
Martha Wainwright is the daughter of American singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, the Canadian recording artist and the sister of musician Rufus Wainwright. She grew up in Montreal and played with her mother and brother from an early age. They released several EPs. However, their first album she released in 2005 on DreamWorks, the label on which her brother is obligated. It came immediately to No. 18 of the Canadian album charts. Early November 2005, it appeared on V2 Records / Rough Trade Records in Germany.
In addition, 2006 saw the Single Set the Fire to the Third Bar, which she sang with Gary Lightbody, the frontman of Snow Patrol on the album Eyes Open.
Wainwright lives in New York.
