Márton Szivós

István Márton Szivós ( born August 19, 1981 in Budapest) is a Hungarian water polo player.

Szivos won with the Hungarian national team three silver medals at the World Championship in 2005 behind the team of Serbia and Montenegro in the 2006 European Championship behind Serbia and at the 2007 World Championships behind Croatia. After he was not appointed to the Olympic team in 2008, he returned in 2009 back in the national team and was fifth in the 2009 World Cup, in 2011 the team reached the fourth place. At the European Championships in 2012, the Hungarian team won the bronze medal.

Szivós was from 2001 to 2005 five times Hungarian champion with Domino BHSE, the water polo Department of Honvéd Budapest. In 2006 he was Italian champion with Pro Recco. He then returned for six years to Honvéd until he moved to Szeged in 2012.

Márton Szivós comes from a water polo family, his grandfather István Szívós senior was Olympic champion in 1952 and 1956, his father István Szívós junior was Olympic champion in 1976.
