Water polo at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships

The Water Polo World Championships 2011 took place in the framework of the World Swimming Championships 2011 in Shanghai, China, from 16 to 31 July. The 96 games ( per 48 for men and women) were held in the Natatorium.

Qualification for the quarter-finals

The qualification was discharged from the runners-up and third the previous round. The winners of the matches qualified for the quarter-finals, the losers playing for ninth through twelve.

Quarterfinals

The quarter-finals were played between the group winners of the preliminary round and the winners of the quarter-final qualification.
