Marty Pavelich

Marty Pavelich ( born November 6, 1927 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played during his career for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League.

Career

Marty Pavelich started his career in 1944 at the Galt Red Wings in the Ontario Hockey Association, where he played three years Hockey. On September 9, 1947, he signed his first contract as a professional player with the Detroit Red Wings. He started the season 1947/48 at the Indianapolis Capitals in the American Hockey League, for whom he was in 26 games in use. Pavelich still earned in the same season a regular place with the Red Wings and managed with the team from Detroit a place in the finals for the Stanley Cup, but lost in four games against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
