Martyn Bernard

Martyn Bernard ( John Martyn Bernard, * December 15, 1984 in Wakefield ) is a British high jumper.

In 2005 he won the bronze medal at the Universiade in İzmir. The following year he won, starting for England, the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and retired at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in qualifying.

The following year he won the bronze medal at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham and finished at the world championships in Osaka on the 14th Place.

A ninth place finish at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing in 2010 was followed by the bronze medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg.

Martyn Bernard is 1.95m and weighs 84 kg. He is coached by Dan Pfaff and starts for the Wakefield Harriers. From 2004 to 2007 he studied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University.
