Mary Ann Mobley

Mary Ann Mobley ( born February 17, 1938 in Biloxi, Mississippi) is an American actress and Miss America of 1959.

Life

Mary Ann Mobley studied at the University of Mississippi. After she was elected Miss Mississippi, in 1959, she won the beauty contest of Miss America 1959. Subsequently, she launched an acting career. For her first major role, the presentation of the Teresa " Terry " Taylor in the 1964 published and directed by Sidney Miller comedy film Get Yourself a College Girl, she was at the award ceremony of the Golden Globe Awards 1965 together with Mia Farrow and Celia Kaye as Best Young Actress excellent. Later, she was cast as Batgirl for the TV series Batman, before it was replaced by Yvonne Craig. Even as an original member of the television series The Girl from UNCLE it was replaced. This time by Stefanie Powers.

Mobley married actor Gary Collins in 1967. With him, she hosted the 1989 Miss America Pageant. Both had a child together. They lived separately since 2011 and were still married to Collins death on 13 October 2012.
