Mary of the Divine Heart

Countess Maria Droste zu Vischering ( Full name: Maria Anna Theresia Antonia Johanna Franziska Huberta Droste Vischering ), religious name Mary of the Divine Heart, ( born September 8, 1863 in Münster ( Westphalia ), † June 8, 1899 in Porto, Portugal) was nun in the Congregation of the sisters of the good Shepherd. She is worshiped in the Catholic Church as Blessed.

Life

From the Count Droste Vischering from Westphalia to arise, she joined in 1888 the convent of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Münster. The most important task of these sisters was in distress girls and young women to help. Especially poor and homeless women and help-seeking prostitutes were included in the houses of the Congregation. 1891 Maria finished their novitiate in the monastery and put down the religious vows.
