Maryla Rodowicz

Maryla Rodowicz ( born December 8, 1945 in Zielona Góra ) is a Polish singer.

Life and work

Maryla Rodowicz began her career as a pop and rock singer in 1967 at the Festival of the student song in Kraków and won in the following years several hit contests (Sochi, Opole ). She celebrated in the 70s and 80s at their concerts and TV appearances with great success. She is also after the political changes of 1989 meets the voice of the Polish people, the packed with profound and political lyrics in pop music again and again the mood in Poland. Her biggest success was the song Małgośka ( in the German version: Marja ) in the early 1970s, which was elected in 2000 in Poland the most popular song of the 20th century. The lyrics of this song comes from the Polish poet and lyricist Agnieszka Osiecka. To date, Maryla Rodowicz is one of the most popular Polish singers.

In the German-speaking world it was known in the 1970s by television shows like A kettle Colorful and Current show booth and took about 30 of their hits in German language for the DDR record label Amiga or the broadcast of the GDR on. Some of them appeared in the CD series 60 years Amiga 2007/2008 on CD.
