Masashi Kishimoto

Masashi Kishimoto (Japanese岸 本 斉 史, Kishimoto Masashi, born November 8, 1974 in Nagi, Okayama Prefecture) is a Japanese manga artist, known mainly through the Naruto manga series.

Life

In his childhood, Kishimoto enthusiastic for Fujios Fujiko Doraemon manga Akira Toriyama and later for comedy manga Dr. Slump. His first professional work was manga Karakuri, for in 1996 he won the contracts awarded by the manga magazine Shōnen Jump Hop Step Award for amateur manga authors. He is best known as the author of Ninja Naruto series, which should be read in Japan since 1999 in Shōnen Jump. Due to the great success of Naruto Kishimoto was in 2004 at No. 3 a list of the most deserving Japanese manga artist.

His twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist.
