Massachusetts Avenue (MBTA Orange Line station)

Massachusetts Avenue is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides access to the metro line Orange Line.

History

The station was opened on May 4, 1987 in parallel to the Northeast Corridor as part of the renovation and relocation of the Orange Line.

Metro Station has a total of two tracks, which are accessible via a central platform.

Building

The metro station is located in downtown Boston at the address 380 Massachusetts Avenue. The building is completely accessible.

As part of the Arts on the Line project, the MBTA two granite monuments ("My Robe" by Peter Rodman and " Drum" by Sharon Cox ) were installed with engraved texts outside the station.

Surroundings

At the station there is a connection to two bus lines of the MBTA. Are the Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall of the New England Conservatory, Northeastern University and the Matthews Arena in the vicinity.
