Master Paul of Levoča

Paul of Leutschau (Slovak Majster Pavol z Levoce, Hungarian Pál Locsei semester, 1460 * -1470; ?? † 1537 -1542 ) was a medieval wooden artists and sculptors of the 15th and 16th centuries, whose major works in Leutschau (then Kingdom Hungary, now Levoča in eastern Slovakia ) have emerged.

The birth and death date of his birth and of death, and his last name is unknown, because most documents about Paul Leutschau of 1550 were destroyed by fire. He probably worked in Cracow, Zeb, Banska Bystrica and settled in Leutschau in 1500 to. There he founded in 1506 a workshop.

Today his work in Levoča is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
