Masury is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. According to the 2000 census the population was 2,618.

Masury is largely an area of Brookfield townships, but has its own post office and its own ZIP code. However, all other facilities, such as fire, police and school board are the same as in the rest of the Township.

Masury is statistically collected by the United States Census Bureau as a separate unit, but this has no effect on the administration, which is done by the Brookfield Township. The statistical territory covered by Masury however extends beyond the boundary of the Township Brookfield addition townships and also includes a small section in the neighboring Hubbard Township.

Geography

Masury lies to the east of Brookfield townships, which is located in the southeast of Trumbull County. History

Masury is named after Frederick Masury, who had founded in the southwest of Brookfield townships in 1903 an explosives factory, the Masurite Company. Masury was a chemist at DuPont, when he invented a bomb, which he considered much safer than the dynamite used at that time.
