Trumbull County, Ohio

Trumbull County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Warren.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme northeastern Ohio, on the east by Pennsylvania and has an area of ​​1644 square kilometers, of which 47 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Ashtabula County, Crawford County (Pennsylvania), Mercer County (Pennsylvania), Mahoning County, Portage County and Geauga County.

History

Trumbull County was formed on July 10, 1800 from parts of Jefferson County and Wayne County. It was named for Jonathan Trumbull senior, a friend of George Washington and Governor of Connecticut.
