Henry County (Ohio)

Henry County is a county located in the state of Ohio of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Napoleon.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme northwest of Ohio, is located in the north about 30 km from the border with Michigan and has an area of ​​1088 square kilometers, of which nine square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Fulton County, Lucas County, Wood County, Putnam County, Defiance County, Williams County, and Hancock County.

History

Henry County was formed on February 12, 1820 from parts of Shelby County. It was named after Patrick Henry, first and sixth Governor of Virginia and important person in the Revolutionary War.
