Wayne County (Ohio)

Wayne County is a county located in the state of Ohio of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Wooster.

Geography

The County is located in the central northeastern Ohio and has an area of ​​1441 square kilometers, of which two square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Medina County, Summit County, Stark County, Holmes County and Ashland County.

History

Wayne County was formed on February 13, 1808 from parts of Columbiana County. It was named the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War by Anthony Wayne, a statesman and general.
