Cuyahoga County, Ohio

Cuyahoga County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cleveland.

Geography

The County is located in the north- northeastern Ohio, bordered on the north by Lake Erie, the southernmost of the five Great Lakes and has an area of ​​3226 square kilometers, of which 2038 square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Lake County, Geauga County, Summit County, Medina County, Lorain County and Portage County.

History

Cuyahoga County was formed on February 10, 1808 from parts of Geauga County. It was named after the Cuyahoga River.
