Harrison County (Ohio)

Harrison County is a county located in the state of Ohio of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cadiz.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme east of Ohio, is about 25 km from the border with West Virginia and has an area of 1064 square kilometers, of which 19 square kilometers are water surface. History

Harrison County was formed on January 2, 1813 from parts of Jefferson County and the Tuscaeawas County. It was named after William H. Harrison, a general in the British -American War of 1812-1814, governor of the Indiana Territory and later as the ninth President of the United States.
